Bowl Clamp Cheese Grater

Cookware has become a huge consumer market in recent years. With designer cookware and kitchen gadgets the improvement and the ease of cooking techniques have progressed greatly.

How to make a cheese grater easier to use in conjunction with an ordinary bowl?

Traditional cheese grating apparatuses require the user to rest the grater onto a flat service, grate the cheese, and then transport the grated cheese into a bowl. Or the user must suspend the grater above the bowl, which can be cumbersome and tiresome. What is needed is a way to make a cheese grater to use in conjunction with an ordinary bowl.

The present invention is a cheese grater that attaches to the rim of a bowl or container. Once the grater is attached to the bowl, the user can easily grate the cheese with the resulting cheese to accumulate in the container.

Figure 1 illustrates a bowl cheese grater 100 including a plastic casing that houses a cheese chute 110. A piece cheese is pushed into a cheese chute 120 where it contacts a grating wheel 130, thus grating the cheese into various shapes. Grating wheel 130 is driven by a hand-operated crank 140. A rubber mount 150, relying on friction, grips the rim of a bowl 160, thus securing grater 100 to bowl 160, where the processed cheese can accumulate.
