Improved package for items displayed on a peg

Countless packaged goods are displayed on merchandiser pegs, ranging from deli meats to toothbrushes to compact discs. While such pegs help conserve valuable shelf space, often customers want a product in a particular color or size that is contained in a package behind several others on the peg. When this happens a customer often chooses to remove all succeeding packages to get to the one they want, and create a mess in the process. What is needed is a way to remove a pegged item without disturbing other items on the peg.

The present invention is an improved package for items displayed on a peg, that includes packaging 110, peg hole 120, and a perforated peg hole tear strip 130, as shown in Figure 1.

In operation, a person pulls down firmly on package 110. This downward pressure is sufficient to tear through perforated peg hole tear strip 130, which allows a person to remove any product stored on a merchandiser peg, regardless of its location on the peg.
