Coffee Maker with Water Filter

Millions of people use automatic drip coffee makers every day. A common problem with such devices, however, is that poor quality water is used to make the coffee, resulting in a bad tasting cup of joe. What is needed is a way to improve the quality of water used for making coffee.

The present invention is an improved coffee maker with a built in replaceable water filter that purifies normal tap water before the coffee is brewed. Coffee maker 100 includes water reservoir 110 and water filter 120 (not visible), as arranged in Figure 1.

In operation, a user fills reservoir 110 with water. The water in reservior 110 passes through water filter 120 before being heated for brewing.
