Date: July 12,2001

Purpose: The purpose of this device is to incorporate a solid state or mechanical mass storage device used for temporary storage and transfer of PC/Macintosh files from a memory card/stick onto a users personal computer.

Description: This device will be used for transfer of files from, but not limited to, PCMCIA flash type memory cards, flash cards, hard drives, memory sticks, and other portable storage devices used in the PC and digital photography marketplace.

This device can be powered by either batteries or by external transformer.

This device will incorporate a mass storage device for transfer of files from memory type cards/sticks, etc. onto this device.

This device will have multiple connections for ease of data transfer from the drive to the users end PC, (personal computer). These formats will include, but not be limited to, standard USB port, FireWire, and SCSI.

Example: 25-40 high resolution pictures are taken by a digital camera and stored onto a PCMCIA mini flash disk. The user must dump and/or erase these pictures onto a PC to continue. This device would be an intermediate storage device capable of storing hundreds even thousands of pictures, via a variety of transfer protocols, until the end user was able to transfer these to his/her personal computer.
