INTELLIGENCE CLAMPSHELL FOR VARIOUS BATTERY SIZES

Problem:

Most of the battery packs particularly internal battery packs that ESG offers come with the PVC clamp shells. The purpose of having this type of packaging is mainly for safety reason where the non-conductive PVC will prevent any soft short incident.

Due to market demand, there is possibility that the batteries are being offered in different sizes or capacity. The design of clamp shell will be unique in this case in order to cater for the range. As a result, there will be added part numbers, databases, tooling, supplier and inventory management

Invention:

"Dome" as per fig A is incorporated into the clamp shell design. The number of domes and location are not limited to the figure shown. The dome shape feature is flexible so that they can be translated upward or downward. The translation of dome will change the available space inside the clamp shell and hence different sizes of battery can fit.

The position of the domes is as per fig B if the size of the battery is relatively small.
