Abstract

The lift system is mounted inside of the pickup box with the tracks mounted to the box floor. The system stores on the pickup box floor. An optional hinged panel attached to the tailgate can be used to cover the gap between the tailgate and lift system. The lift mechanism will allow the tailgate to lift a load vertically from the ground to flush with the pickup box floor. The sliding mechanism will be capable of transmitting the loads from the tailgate to the pickup box structure with minimum deflection. The lifting device can be hydraulic, chain, cable or screw driven and is not intended to be part of this disclosure.
