SNOOZE FUNCTION OF THE ALARM IN PAGER

   Currently, no pager has an alarm clock with a snooze function. The snooze function is popularly used by people to remind themselves that the alarm has previously alerted. By putting a snooze function in the pager with the alarm clock, the pager can provide the user with a reminder that the alarm has alerted.

  This useful feature can be used in the new display pagers as well as some existing alphanumeric pagers. This feature would work especially well and require no additional hardware changes with a pager that already has a real time clock. This feature can be selected by a sample setup screen as illustrated in Figure 1.

Access to the snooze function is by special keys, such as FIELD SELECTION and FUNCTION

SELECTION keys. By pressing the FIELD SELECTION keys, each field can be selected. The selected field will blink and can be changed as desired by further pressing the FUNCTION SELECTION keys associated with the field being changed. The user can select ALM, which only alerts once, or SNZ, which alerts every 5 or 10 minutes until disabled. The time interval between the snooze is codeplug selectable by simply changing a RAM value.
