QUICK CHANGE WATCH STRAP/ANTENNA

FOR WRIST WATCH PAGER

by Robert Kurcbert

Replacing Watch pager wrist strap assemblies can be made more convenient for the customer by incorpo- rating quick change features.

This can be achieved by first molding "J" shaped channels in to the watch bezel (Figure 1). One half of the contact pair is then insert molded into the bezel and terminated to the receiver E!C.B. by a wire passed thro the bezel and soldered to a contact on an interior wall. This contact rests against a gold plated edge on the

receiver thus completing the circuit. The antenna assem- bly consists of an antenna strip of the required con&u- ration to which contacts are attached (section A-A). This assembly is in turn molded into the strap. A pin is also inserted into the strap at its hinge point.

This pin, upon insertion into the bezel &s shown in Figure 2, provides both contact compression force and strap retention in the bezel.
