Abstract

This invention proposes a mechanism to support Hot-plug capability for RapidIO devices without software intervention. The important components of this invention are: a RapidIO system having at least 2 RapidIO devices communicating over a RapidIO link and one of the devices goes offline temporarily or has to be replaced during normal operation without having to bring the system down.
