2.5mm to Modular Adaptor

In the office place both cellular phones and desktop phone play a vital role as a means for communication. Hands free headsets have become common for both cellular phones, as a means of safety while driving, and desktop phones, for a means of increased productivity.

How to use the same headset for both 2.5mm and modular connector equipped phones?

Office personal currently use a separate headset for the cellular or modern cordless phones having a 2.5mm built in jack and one for the older desktop phones only having a built in modular phone jack. What is needed is a way to use the same headset for both 2.5mm and modular connector equipped phones.

The present invention is an apparatus for converting a 2.5mm connectable headset to a telephone only equipped with a modular jack.

Figure 1 illustrates an adaptor 100 having a 2.5mm female connector 120, a male modular phone jack 130 a converter 140 and connecting wires 110 and 110b.

Female 2.5mm connector 120 is capable of receiving a 2.5mm male jack from a headset designed for cellular phones. Female 2.5mm connector 120 is connected to converter 140 via wire 110 which in turn connects to male modular phone jack 130 via wire 110b. Male modular phone jack 130 is then inserted into a desktop phone of choice (not shown).
