Abstract

There are many times when a message is received over a 2-way radio or a tone and voice pager which requires the user to write down a phone number or a name but, the user does not have any paper. The Erasa- ble Note Pad Label described here provides both a prod- uct label as well as a reusable note pad. The Erasable Note Pad consists of three parts; the writing surface, the tacky backing behind the writing surface and the Erase Bubble. The writing surface and the backing behind the writing surface form a magic slate writing tablet. When pressure is applied to the writing surface with a pencil or stylus the writing surface is pressed against backing, sticking where the pencil pressed the 2 surfaces together The contact area provides a high contrast easily read note.

The magic slate is erased by pulling the writing sur- face from the backing much like turning the page of a tablet. However, this would not be durable enough for use on a pager or a portable radio. The erasing tech- nique for the Erasable Note Pad described herein is unique. The Erasable Note Pads front surface, rear sur- face and Erase Bubble are sealed around the edges trap-
