Background

      A conventional capability matrix array singulation machine is capable of handling substrate that bows to 5 mm.

              A conventional frame stopper has a height of 10.2 mm (see Figure 1).

Description

              The disclosed method includes a design for a frame stopper so that its height is 20 mm (see Figure 2). This method captures a substrate that is bowing up to 15 mm (see Figures 3 and 4).

              The frame stopper positions the substrate (see Figure 5) in the machine and prevents frame overshoot (see Figure 6).

               The disclosed method raises the height of the frame detection sensor to accommodate bowed silicon (see Figure 7).

Advantages

      The disclosed method improves the handling capability of a matrix array singulation machine so that it handles substrate that bows up to 15 mm. This modification improves the machine utilization.
