IDEA

  The aim of this idea is to incorporate an ULTRA- SONIC, MICROWAVE or PIR DETECTOR system into or as an add on feature to our PMR radio's to give security groups an instant detection facility.

DESCRIPTION

  Alterations to a standard product to incorporate one of the above sensor systems could be achieved perhaps by enlarging the front cover section to enable sensors to be an integral part ofthe radio.

  Programming of two channel positions to allocate them as ALARM SEND and ALARM RECEIVE would be written into the radio software of the detector unit,
i.e. a radio. In the SEND mode the radio becomes the Intruder Detector and some switch functions will change. For instance, the F'M could enable a test to be carried out by arming the device without sending the alert (WALK TEST). Another switch could be used to set the device ACTIVE with an exit delay (EXIT DELAY/ ARM). The detector unit (radio) would send an ID sig- nal every 30 minutes or so to indicate validity of system. A received signal strength indicator (RSSI) on a receiver

unit (a central controller for the detector unit) could give a warning of jamming in the event that ID bursts were missed. The receiver unit could be able to send to the detector unit (radio) and get return ID burst to verify validity of the system.
