PERSONALIZED DIRECTORY USING ADVISOR PAGER OR ANY ALPHA PAGER WITH MEMORY

by Mahmoud Charkhkar and Robert Kroegel

There are times that one needs to call or page some- one, and it is necessary to look up the numbers in the phone directory. Also, we tend to call or page certain individuals more frequently. The Advisor" pager offers a personal message lile memory which can be used to store messages received over the air.

Compose pager/phone numbers as a message

It is convenient to use a personal message terminal to send to one's own pager such as the Advisor" pager all of the most frequently needed pager or phone num- bers. Once the information is received by the pager, one can store it in the personal message file, and retrieve as needed. See Figure 1.

Therefore, one can have access to ,up to IO personal messages with each message 100 characters in length. This is an extensive directory at one's disposal. Lastly, these personal directories are retained even when the pager is powered off or the battery is replaced. Further- more, this application can be used to store not only pager/phone numbers, but also other useful informa- tion such as addresses.
