  The Selective Call Receiver with a laser pointer built-in has the advantage ofhaving both a selective call receiver and a laser pointer available to the user in a coorperative environment.

  Figure 1 shows the device having a selective call receiver combined with the laser pointer. The device consists of a receiver, a microprocessor, a laser cir- cuitry, and a function button. The microprocessor controls the laser circuitry when the timction but- ton is activated.

  The operation of the receiver in laser pointer mode is shown in Figure 2. The flowchart indicates the operation of the microprocessor when the func- tion button is activated: As soon as the function button is activated by the user, the microprocessor turns on the laser circuitry.

  Figure 3 shows a pictoral diagram of the combi- nation of the pager with ,the laser pointer. The com- bination consists of the pager circuitry, laser circuitry, laser lens, and function button.
