Abstract

Certain emergency-care pager markets would benefit from having a hour/minute/second timer that can be associated with each newly received emer- gency page. This feature would allow emergency- care pager wearers to observe their response-time to one or more emergency page messages. As soon as the emergency page is received, the pager imme- diately begins an hour/minute/second timer for that page. The user can switch between the emergency page message and the emergency timer. Once at the emergency site, the emergency page timer can be stopped (frozen) and both the emergency page mes- sage and the timer locked to prohibit them from being accidentally deleted. For documentation pur- poses, the emergency page message and timer (response time) can be logged when the user returns from the emergency site.
