Abstract

Pagers with Multiple Alarms exist in the mar- ket today. However there is no way for the user to distinguish between the various alarms that have been set. This greatly limits the usefulness of alarms. By adding canned messages or icons to alarms, the usehdness of alarms is greatly extended. For exam- ple, the user can set an alarm with a pill icon attached to it. When the alarm expires, a flashing pill icon would inform the user its time to take his/her pill. By adding a meeting message, the icon could alert the user about a meeting, etc.
