USING COMBINATIONS OF LED'S ON A CHANNEL CONTROL MODULE (CCM) TO INDICATE STATUS

by Art Muszynski, Andrew Sapuntzakis and Dmitry Avramenko

BACKGROUND

channel control module (CCM), and to use these LEDs together to provide a recognizable pattern or indication to the operator. For example, 2 LED's out of, a series of 8 LEDs flashing interchangeably could be one status indicator while the same two LEDs flashing in sync would indicate another event. The list of possible status indications with two LED& top (T) and bottom (B) is listed below.

CCM LEDs are used in dispatch console operation to indicate status. Only a limited number of LEDs can be placed on a CCM. Sometimes a need arises to indicate more events than the number of available LEDs. Currently LEDs are used only individually. The available LED indications are ON, OFF, and FLASH.

PRIOR ART

SOLUTION

Our idea is to use two or more of the LEDs on a

l T and B FLASH in sync

The number of combinations will be much higher if we use 3 or more LEDs.

We could also combine a large number of LEDs and indicate status by turning LEDs on and off in a circular pattern. The sequence of...
