PLATFORM INDEPENDENT RADIO CONFIGURATOR

INTRODUCTION

The following paper describes how software controllable features and customer data of different radio products can be configurated using the same configuration tool. In addition, the transfer of this data (and/or parts of it) between different products will be supported.

PROBLEM(S) TO BE SOLVED

the software controllable features and customer data. The reason for this is that each new radio product has a diierent physical configuration data layout ("codeplug"), different feature constraints and incompatibilities and in most cases a different interface to the RSS. The RSS needs to have knowl- edge of this information and therefore, in most cases, requires new development with minimal re-use opportunities:

Currently, each radio product (mobile, portable, To give the RSS of different radio products a base station, etc.) requires a completely different uniform customer representation the user interface and new Radio Service Software (RSS) to configure has been standardized as far as possible.
