BELT CLIP WITH SLOT FOR TELEPHONE CALL CARD

by Brian Geraghty

Throughout the world, Motorola pagers are sold as "Minicall" devices. Basically, a Minicall is a personal beeper which is usually attached to the wearer by means of a holster clipped to a belt or pocket.

When a user is paged, or alerted by their mini- call, the telephone number is displayed on their device, and the user must go to a telephone to reply to the call. A large percentage of public telephone call boxes are now card operated as opposed to coins.

A call card is a plastic card. approximately the same size as a credit card, which has credit units

superimposed on it. This card can be purchased from a variety of outlets, and is inserted into the telephone where traditionally coins would he used. Due to the increasing number of card operated tele-

phones, these cards have become very popular, particularly with Minicall users.

Figure I shows a typical minicall pager belt clip, or holster. It has been modified to accommodate a call card. The card is carried in a slot between the main body of the holster. and the spring clip.

This means the rninicall user always has a means of replying to a call without having to search for the correct change, or call card.
