Abstract

With two way paging still only a few years old, it has become evident that a two way pager subscriber needs a method in which a subscriber can set his pager to respond automatically to incoming messages. The automatic response message is based upon the page received and how the pager's subscriber sets the pager to respond.

SUBSCRIBER PROGRAMMABLE PAGE DATA FILTERING WITH AUTO RESPONSE

by Dan M&lee

With two way paging still only a few years old, it has become evident that a two way pager subscriber needs a method in which a subscriber can set his pager to respond automatically to incoming messages. The automatic response message is based upon the page received and how the pager's subscriber sets the pager to respond.

The auto response is a great feature to a subscriber that knows how he is going to answer a page, but just hasn't gotten it. Figure I. shows a

typical receipt of a phone number. This number happens to be the home number of pager's owner. Earlier he programmed his pager to respond to this number with his message in Figure 2. In the Auto Response Setup, the subscriber sets the type of data to look for in the incoming message and what to do if that type of message is received. Here, he chose to respond to the message. He could have decided to send a new message to someone else. The option to be alerted before sending the automatic response is set to be off.
