Abstract

A pager that is misplaced can be tracked by pag- ing it so that a user can then locate the pager by sensing its alert annunciations. However, the pager may not be set to provide appropriate alerts for the user to sense. For example, visual alerts cannot be sensed when a pager is hidden from view. Hence, an alarm code is proposed to enable an alert mode to locate a missing pager.

Start

1 No

The alarm code has to be initiated by the user with a password. This password controls access to the alarm code and prevent other users from setting off the alarm code. Upon reception of a selective call signal with the alarm code, the pager will pro- vide continuous audio alerts with which the user can then trace its location.
