INTRODUCTION

iDEN subscriber unit users cannot selectively receive interconnect or dispatch calls (without ignoring their subscriber unit or turning it off). There is no way for the user to dynamically preset which calls they want to receive or reject.

Information systems selectively receive and per- mit access to users through the use of black/white lists and "kill files". These lists can be updated dynamically, and they provide a means of choosing which users to receive or reject.

The ability to select which subscribers one wants to receive calls from would be useful for peo- ple who do not want to be disturbed. The boss might go into an important meeting and want the capabili- ty to receive calls from only certain people (her boss, husband, stock bmker, attorney, etc.).
