Abstract

The single piece belt clip with integral spring was designed with cost reduction in mind. A single piece design eliminates the need for a steel pin and a steel spring. Thus, we achieve a reduction from three parts to one part and a corresponding cost reduction.

 III. Breakaway clip - the belt clip will detach from the holster when rotated beyond the point of inter- ference. The angle of easiest release coincides with the angle of maximum rotation (when belt clip bot- toms out). The angle also gives the fastener the most strength when the pager is pushed downward (towards the ground when on a belt).
