        � � � � � Multiple connector alignment (see Figure 1) using a single device for positioning during the board assembly process is difficult to maintain. Connector positioning, tilt, skew, and lifting are manufacturing defects. Misalignment is expected to increase as a concern as the use of multiple connectors increases using third generation input/output (3GIO) architecture.

        � � � � � Conventional solutions for this concern are to design a new and larger connector to the size required or to use a fixture board inserted into multiple connectors to maintain connector alignment and positioning during soldering. Using a fixture board adds an assembly step.

        � � � � � The disclosed method is a connector coupler device (retainer) that enables two or more connectors to be positioned together for assembly into the printed circuit board (PCB).
