I NTRODUCTION

This paper deals with TETRA technology.

PROBLEM(S) TO BE SOLVED

The closest technology is DECT. But the main benefit of the low power TETRA gateway is the use of just one telephone and just one database based on the latest technology for example for business trips and at home.

The primary requirement for a low power TETRA gateway is to enable portable radios to

operate at home with very low power in the same way as the home base stations do today in a operation radius of 300 meters.

The gateway should enable the portables to operate via low cost telephone land lines.

PROPOSED SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM(S)

The Low Power TETRA Gateway provides the RF interface to the TETRA portable as known from the DIMETRA - SIP systems and the line interface to the telephone land line.

In this particular case the new low power TETRA Gateway will, in its behaviour, replace the CT2 and/or DECT equipment.
