Abstract

Disclosed is a mechanism for Platen drive of the impact dot printer. The improvement in performance and stabilization of paper feeding are realizable by making the source of a vertical operation drive of a platen share with the source of a paper feeding drive.

Platen Drive Mechanism

The following are the conventional example of Platen mechanism.

Example 1. Platen has actuator of exclusive use and print by raising platen at the time of printing, and lose stress applied to a paper by lowering platen at the time of paper feeding, and it performs stable paper feedind. However, by this mechanism, the original source of power of platen operation is needed.

Example 2. Always, Platen is pressed against gap roller attached in print head by the power of spring, and printing and feeding of a paper are performed in this state. However, by this mechanism, when feeding a paper, it is necessary to evacuate print head (=gap roller) from on a paper, and performance falls.

By sharing the source of a drive of platen and the source of a drive of paper feeding, this invention conquered the fault of the above conventional technology. Descrive the details of this invention below.

At the time of printing, the platen pushes a paper against the gap roller using the power of spring. Printing becomes possible in this state. (Refer to Fig. 1 and Fig. 2)

As shown in Fig. 3, at the time of feeding a paper ahead, paper feed motor rotates in the direction of an arrow. The lever rotates in the direction of an arrow through the slip clutch (refer to Fig. 1) prepared between Gear-A and Cam-shaft-flange at this time, and Platen falls downward. And the feeding-stress is lost.
