  Figure shows the flowchart of this disclosure. The printer scans the form and detects the width of the sheet by using a optical sensor which is mounted on the print head while printing each line. If the printer detects the change of the width of the form, the printer moves the form forward a certain amount of steps then scans again to prevent detecting a black mark on the form. After detecting the width of the form, and the width becomes narrow, the printer judges the form is jammed.
