Background

              The .NET set of base classes within the Windows® (a registered trademark of the Microsoft Corporation) development environment does not provide any of the options provided through the disclosed custom class. Customization options are required by application developers to improve the development environment.

Description

              The disclosed method is a custom development class, DataGridTextBoxColumn, which adds several custom features, including:

•             Font color

•             Font size

•             Font face

•             Background color

•             Underline

•             Strikeout

•             Bold

•             Italics

•             Image to display in each cell before the text

•             Alternate image to display in each cell before the text

•             Editable or noneditable column contents

              Each of these custom features are exposed through public properties of the class, making the class very easy for developer's to use.

              For example, the first two columns of a data grid are constructed with the DataGridCustomColumn class (see Figure 1).
