A spraying apparatus with a means to clean the dirt build-up inside its additive spraying device

Field of invention:

The invention relates to a method of cleaning a spraying apparatus with an exchangeable cartridge containing an ironing additive. The spraying apparatus further comprises an iron with exchangeable cartridge wherein the iron is capable of dispensing ironing additive.

Prior arts:

It is generally known that additive is applied in ironing, for example to enhance the smoothness or wrinkle resistance of fabric. This can be done for examples by using a separate container or by using a spraying device provided in iron. Such spraying device generally comprises of a nozzle and a pump to disperse the additive out from a cartridge. Examples can be found in patent WO200153595A1, US6128839 and WO0157302A1.

One problem with such spraying device is dirt can accumulate and grow in the system over time. This can cause blockage to the spraying device and when the dirt is dispersed out from nozzle, it can stain the fabric. The main source of the dirt came from the additive juice remain in the device when it becomes gel overtime. Dirt can also grow from this residue additive in a form of fungus or micro-bacteria depending on the level of preservative of the additive juice and the water quality that is used for dilution in the home usage.

Description of the invention:

It’s an object of the invention to provide a spraying apparatus such as an iron with a means to clean the spray device. According to the first aspect of the invention, there is provided with a means to flush out the dirt accumulated in the spraying device. According to second aspect of the invention, there is provided with a means to collect the dirt for easy disposal. According to third aspect of the invention, the said collector can be directly plugged into the additive cartridge’s coupling of the spray device.

As shown in Fig.1 to illustrate the known execution of a spray device in iron with an electrical pump. The ironing additive is contained in a replaceable cartridge and it is diluted with water from water-tank, then disperse out from the nozzle. The spray nozzle is integrated on the replaceable cartridge.

The preferred execution of the invention is as shown in Fig.2. To operate the c...
