Removal of the part of the centre lead-out support wire extending from the lamp seal.

The long filament of MV platform burners needs to be supported in its center. This center support is mounted on a Mo-foil with lead out wire, the wire having half the voltage of the lamp during operation. To avoid unintended contact of this center lead wire by persons, it is proposed to weaken the center lead wire (e.g. via an indent) before the seal is made, close to the edge of the Mo-foil. When making the seal, care has to be taken that the local weakened location is present in the finished seal. After completion of the seal, the center lead wire has to be removed partially. Removal is realized by breaking of the part that extends out of the seal. Because of the local weakening of the lead wire, the lead wire will break at the weakened location inside the glass seal when a turning + pulling action is performed.
