        � � � � � Conventionally, teaming is very complex and confusing to end-users. Using a deterministic method of identifying the environment enables adapter teaming software to present teaming options to the user in a feasible, understandable manner, greatly limiting configuration errors and subsequent support calls.
Description

        � � � � � The disclosed method automatically determines switch configuration for adapter teaming. The method uses known protocols to interrogate the switch during the teaming configuration process (see Figure 1). This interrogation leads to the display of available teaming modes, greatly simplifying the process of teaming adapters.

        � � � � � While the technologies used are not new, using them together constitutes an improvement in the teaming configuration environment. The added built-in intelligence and subsequent flexibility makes teaming much simpler for end-users and a dramatically reduces the technical support burden.
