Abstract

A new procedure allows the subscriber to handle two mobile telephone accounts - e.g. a private and a business account - with one device (MS - Mobile Station). The change between this two accounts needs no reboot of the device. Just a click enables the user to change to the other account or the other mobile telephone number. In the first embodiment the subscriber has only one MSISDN (Mobile Subscriber ISDN) for incoming telephone calls. For outgoing calls, there are two different accounts. In another embodiment there are two MSISDN - one for private use and one for business use. The subscriber can switch between the two accounts or the two MSISDN to answer calls or can reject or redirect incoming calls while using the other account. The two accounts can have different chargings modes - e.g. pre-paid for private and post-paid for business use. The device indicates a private or business related incoming call with different ring tones by checking the different address books. If the subscriber is roaming outside the HPLMN (Home Public Land Mobile Network), the roaming leg is charged idependent of the charging mode. Therefore it is possible to deactivate or to bar calls to the second MSISDN in the HLR (Home Location Register).

One possibility to realize the procedure is to switch on/off the O-CSI (Originating CAMEL Subscription Information) and, in case of terminating charging and/or if roaming outside the HPLMN is allowed, also the T-CSI (Terminating CAMEL Subscription Information) in the HLR (CAMEL - Customised Applications for Mobile network Enhanced Logic). Making it possible to switch on/off the GPRS-CSI (GPRS-CAMEL Subscription Information) and the SMS-CSI too, allows the use of GPRS (General Packe...
