Abstract

In a client browser when a page is loaded the user must perform the refresh in order to load a newer version. The problem is a active http server might be loaded and changed constantly. The problem is the client browser can be out of sync with the server unless the user manually clicks the reload button.

Auto-Reload in Browser Client Based on Time Parameter

In a client browser when a web page is loaded the user must perform the refresh or reload action in order to load a newer version. In an active http server the web page might change constantly without the user's knowledge. In order to get the latest version of the page the user has to click on the Reload or Refresh action in some browser manually. In some instance the user might not be aware that the web page content has changed. The problem is the client browser can be out of sync with the server unless the user manually clicks the reload button.

Reload or Refresh action button

Further, site activity seems to be increasing constantly and data content changes dramatically. The idea is to provide a client browser time parameter to reload a page based on a time interval automatically. This time value can be set in the user preferences. For example reload activation would be triggered every 15 minutes. This would cause the client browser to ask the server if the page contents have changed within 15 minutes. If an acknowledgment is received then the page is reloaded automatically without the user taking action.
