Mechanics of re-attachable Breather Filter

Disclosed is a device for Breather Filter which is designed as attachable to and

removable from HDD(Hard Disk Drive) repeatedly. Breather Filter is a device for

filtering air flow between inside and outside HDD, which protects any contamination or

moisture from entering into HDD meanwhile adjusting the air pressure and temperature

of HDD inside. Breather Filter is usually pasted with adhesive, which means Breather

Filter is unremovable once it is fixed in HDD. Fig.1 shows the structure of Breather

Filter, the image of air flow and the mechanism of filtering the air.

Two types of re-attachable Breather Filter mechanism is embodied below, both of which are based on the same concept of the invention. The re-attachable Breather Filter's Plastic Case features two or more protuberances on its sides, and room for O-ring around the entrance of Diffusion Path on its surface(TYPE-I, Fig.2) or along to the edge of its surface(TYPE-II, Fig.3).

Fig.4 shows the structure of re-attachable Breather Filter TYPE-I.
1. PET is pasted on the surface of Plastic Case to form Diffusion Path.
2. O-Ring is inserted into the room on the surface of Plastic Case.
3. Holder Plate is a SUS plate which has an air hole, as many arms as the number

of proturberances on Plastic Case, and each arm has a hole which are figured

to catch the corresponding proturberances.
