   Disclosed is a method for checking transfer between SCSI interface and Dataflow buffer and Data Compression/Decompression in Tape Drive without Host Computer.

Since the transfer rate between Host and Dataflow buffer in the Tape Drive is very high and high reliability is required, we should check if data is not corrupted during transfer and Compression/Decompression before shipping Tape Drive. To do this Host computer was needed at manufacturing line. Using the disclosed method we can check data reliability during transfer and Compression/Decompression function without Host computer. This method saves manufacturing cost and time.

Attached is the detail description of the disclosed method. Data will be sent from MPU instead of Host to Dataflow buffer through Data Compression function (ELDC) with CRC. The length of data after compression will be checked then data will be sent to SCSI interface block (YETI). After that CRC will be checked to confirm data is not corrupted.
