Abstract

A asset management system is disclosed which automatically maintains asset (e.g. documents, files, programs..) and assets category information . This asset management system consists of asset database , asset category information database, means for to maintaining these two databases and means to search the assets. Asset category information database includes the collection of multiple category information. Each category information includes all or some of the following information : (1.1) A unique id (1.2) Definition of the category (1.3) Conceptually closely related multiple expressions (1.4) Usage statistical data and usage history about expressions in (1.3) Each asset has unique identification information as a unique document number and also an Asset Information Header. The Asset Information Header may be stored separately from the asset and includes all or some of the following information: (2.1) Single or multiple unique id described in (1.1) for describeing the category of the asset (2.2) Information about the period during which the asset would be available for general usage (2.3) Asset usage information (2.4) The information used in modifying the period defined in (2.2) based on asset usage information of (2.3) The asset management system includes means for calculating the period described in (2.2) by using rule-based and other approaches and modify this period based on information of (2.4). The asset management system has means for making unavailable the document for general users when availability period described in (2.2) has terminated .

Asset Management System

A asset management system is disclosed which automatically maintains

Asset category information database includes the collection of multiple

Each asset has unique identification information as a unique document
number and also an Asset Information Header. The Asset Information

available for general usage
(2.3) Asset usage information
