Abstract

Migrating data from the AS/400 to lotus notes using the OV/400 Migration Tools currently sends Final-Form-Text (FFT) documents as an attachments to Lotus Notes. The problem with this is that Lotus Notes only provides a viewer for this type of data and there is a requirement to have document stored in notes native rich-text format so it can be altered and queried. The FFT converter takes an FFT document format and remaps the document tags into a Lotus Notes rich-text (ODS) formatted tags. Once the FFT data stream is converted into an ODS format the Lotus Notes APIs can be used to import the document into lotus notes as rich-text. Once the document is imported as an rich-text document then it can be manipulated as any other document created within Lotus Notes.
