Abstract

The disclosed idea relates to a personalized service using a defined filter for receiving news. Such a service provides to a user a defined number of information relating to a specific attribute. Moreover, the user can define the quality and the relevance of the news. All news become attached attributes concerning relevance (this can be more detailed, e.g., relevance for people living in defined country or area, relevance for IT people, etc.) and quality. An example for the quality attribute can be bad or good, i.e. the news is good news or bad news. The user then can order the system to guarantee, for example, 80% good news every day. On getting 100 news messages a day, this means that only the 20 most relevant bad news and the 80 most relevant good news are delivered. Many other quality measures are possible (e.g., local/global news, news that are only a small increment of yesterdays news, really new news, etc.). 1
