Abstract

There is described a "scroll button" for use with a computer system (e.g., a PC) that the user presses when he/she wants to read the screen without having to drag the scroll bar with the mouse or page down/line feed with different keys. Pressing the scroll button would permit scrolling at a steady speed that could be set in the system's program by the user. Once the scroll button is pressed, the screen scrolls upward and the user can read at his/her selected pace. Stopping the scrolling could be easily accomplished with button pressing again. Single pressing could cease movement at the present view, while pressing twice rapidly could return the user back to the original setting. It does not appear that such an invention would take much to implement other than developing a relatively simple program and providing some relatively simplistic cosmetic changes to the existing keyboard designs.
