Disclosed is a method and business process of automatic inventory of IT assets. This Invention makes it possible for Service Providers to support their client's IT Asset Management. Attached figure describes the overall steps. Service provider installs Asset Information Collection Server(s) in the Client's site (the number of servers is variable by the number of sites and targeted devices). And Service Provider configures the Asset Information Collection Server(s) to collect assert data (configuration of Hardware and Software installed in it, according to client's requirements) and collectoin interval and other settings. The Assert Information Collection Server collects asset data from target devices (for example, UNIX Workstations and Personal Computers) in the interval period. (step(1) in the attached figure).
