Advanced Controller for PC and TV

It is said that almost 80% of Chinese students get shortsighted, and one of the most important reasons is that they watch too much TV and spend too much time on PC.

Most parents care their children's eyesight. And for some traditional reasons, Chinese parents often want to limit their children's playing time, especially when they are watching TV, playing PC games or surfing internet.

Our invention is like an advanced version of traditional TV controller; it can supplies time limitation and channel limitation features the parents; parents can use this advanced controller to constraint their children's watching time. This invention is also applicable for PC.

Figure 1 shows an advanced TV controller:

The advanced controller looks like a normal controller, and can do anything that normal controller can do. In addition to the normal features, the controller provides a so-called 'super mode', which is designed for the parents; and the 'normal mode' is for the kids. In order to provide the advanced feature, an extra 'super mode button' is required in the remote controller, or on the TV set itself.

There are two modes in the advanced controller, and the 'normal mode' is the default mode when the TV is turned on. In the normal mode, there is a time limitation, such as '3 hours per day' or '16 hours per week'. When the TV is in the normal mode, the watching time is accumulated, and if the total watching time exceeds the limitation, the TV would show a warning message and then turn off itself.
