Structure of a backlight unit for a Liquid Crystal Display in order not
to have a bright line or a dark line near CCFL unit

Disclosed is a structure of a backlight unit
for a Liquid Crystal Display. This invention
solves a problem of a luminous uniformity
near a Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp. This
problem is caused by a ray of light incident
into an unexpected corner structure of a
light guide of the backlight unit. In order
to solve this problem, the unexpected corner
structure must be covered by a metal
reflector, which is illustrated in Figure 1.
However a dark line instead of a bright line
appears by covering the corner structure of
the light guide. It is essential to take a
suitable gap between a lamp reflector and a
light guide. From manufacturing point of
view, it is hard to control the gap
precisely. One solution, which we are
suggesting, is a structure shown in Figure 2,
3 and 4. With this structure, neither a
bright line nor a dark line appears. A weak
dotted bright line and a weak dotted dark
line appears but these are less noticeable.
