Abstract

Disclosed is a Static Attitude control methodology in Head Gimbal Assembly (HGA). Static Attitude is expressed by two parameters, Pitch Static Attitude (PSA) and Roll Static Attitude (RSA). Both parameters can be measured as a tilt angle of a slider on HGA and PSA is an angle in the direction of slider length while RSA in the slider width direction. The content is to re-form and re-initialize bent leads that are ultra sonically bonded to gold pads of a slider. This is done by incorporating a pusher into an unload tool and a pusher physically contacts a platform area which is an extension and connection area of four bent leads. A pusher is pushed in furthermore in the direction of slider gold pads to get the targeted bent leads re-forming well done (Fig.1).

The method here is valid when a wireless suspension like ILS (Integrated
Laminated/Lead
Suspension) is used with the combination, bent leads interconnection and
ultrasonic
bonding (Fig.2)

Re-formed on re-initialized bent leads that can be stabilized in HGA PSA and RSA,
can
also contribute a bonded strength between a suspension and a slider, and can
boost the
strength.
