Abstract

Disclosed is a system for reporting a damage of freight. In the transportation business, freight is damaged in accident on the way to destination. This system reduces the possibility that freight suffers destructive damage. It monitors the shock on freight. And if a serious shock has been detected, it records data and notifies with alert to proper person (for example: a truck driver) for prevention of unrecoverable destruction. The recorded data is stored in memory device. This system consists of two components "Shock Detection Unit" and "Monitor Unit". The shock detection unit is fixed on the freight. It consists of an acceleration sensor, micro-controller, and non-volatile memory and radio transmitter. The acceleration sensor detects a shock on the freight and micro-controller writes the data on non-volatile memory and transmits the data to the monitor unit by radio transmitter. The data includes the occurred time and 3-axis acceleration values. The monitor unit consists of radio receiver, micro-controller and information display panel. The proper person (for example: a truck driver) operates it. It receives data from the shock detection unit and displays the information and notifies with alert if necessary.
