Abstract

This article describe a high damping platen of dot impact printer. The platen is composed of solid outer shell and high damping inner material. The material of outer shell is hard alumite finished aliminum or steel. And the inner material is rubber or foam rubber. Generally, print quality of dot impact printer depends on platen hardness. That is, higher hardness platen can make higher quality printing. But, higher hardness platen causes higher impact noise. To solve this defect, fills rubber or form rubber in the shell as a inner material. Noise is absorbed in a short time by this inner material. This hybrid platen can realize high quality and low noise printing.
