Abstract

A parent and his/her child are each provided with a device such as, for example, a pager. Unlike the typical communication pager, these devices do not communicate through a carrier, rather, the child's device only transmits a signal directly to the parent's device. The strength of the child's signal is monitored by the parent through the parental device. If the signal strength is lower than a predetermined level, an alarm will be activated in the parental device. Thus, the parent will be better able to monitor the child's location and well being.
