Abstract

We disclose a method to take advantage of communication modularity for web personalization. It is known that communication effectiveness can improve by communicating to one using their native modularity including communication forms and word choices most comfortable to a person's modularity. We suggest using communication modularity for personalization, improved effectiveness, and improved experience for a web site visitor. Specifically, allow the presentation of web content to be personalized based on the visitors communication modularity. If a visitor is a visual, the text contains words appealing to visuals such a "giving them a glimpse", "we will now clarify" and will contain video clips and other multimedia appealing to visual communicators. If a visitor is an auditory, the text will contain words appealing to visuals such as "this amplifies the situation", "they have been able to harmonize", "tune in to hear" and will contain the availability of increased audio samples and significantly less words. If the visitor is a kinesthetic communicator, the text will contain words appealing to kinesthetics including "we can get a feel for how this work", "you can sharpen your image by", "we can now tackle". Multimedia components for kinesthetics will focus on tangibles and attempt to provide a hands on experience and appeal to emotions.
