Abstract

Disclosed is a mechanism for the FAN auto-shutter of the redundant cooling unit. (Fig.1) This invention mechanism is designed for the redundant cooling unit which is incorporated two axial fans horizontally. Fig.2 shows the section view of this unit and the airflow. Generally, the redundant cooling unit has the circulation airflow problem that the failed fan is changed to air intake hole (Fig.3) when one fan is failed. Therefore the redundant cooling unit has to be consider to make a shutter for preventing this problem. This invention mechanism has a shutter too, but the blade of shutter has a counterbalance which keep the shutter horizontally (Fig.6, 7) So this invention mechanism has following advantages. 1) The shutter is closed automatically and tightly by the circulation airflow (Fig.4, 5) when one fan is failed. 2) No electrical mechanism required for the working. 3) In case of normal operation, there is no airflow resistance in the unit.
