Abstract

The invention will calculate the time difference between one specified date time and another specified date time. This software tool can be used by individuals or groups who are dependant upon knowing the number of business days hours transacted. For example in the Help desk environment where many different Service Level Agreements (SLAs) have to be met, having a tool which will calculate a business hours time difference will enhance efficiencies in attempting to achieve the relative SLAs.

Business Hours Calculator

The invention will calculate the time difference between one specified date & time and another specified date & time. This software tool can be used by individuals or groups who are dependant upon knowing the number of business days & hours transacted. For example in the Help desk environment where many different Service Level Agreements (SLAs) have to be met, having a tool which will calculate a business hours time difference will enhance efficiencies in attempting to achieve the relative SLAs.

The invention is solved by a software tool which calculates the Business Hours time difference between two date & times instead of the number of calendar hours & days. Advantage is achieved as currently said calculation has to be performed manually. Having a link on your desktop to the business hours calculator will immediately improve efficiency and encourage its use due to its simplicity and ease of use. The invention is also applicable in the Project Management environment. If a project requires recalculation of a finish date, after locating new resources the Tool can calculate the number of available hours from these resources, take account of planned holidays and other availability factors (days of week or percentage). The flexibility to dynamically recalculate is a significant benefit to project planners.
